The man in the image on the far left was my grandfather, Pasquale “Pat” Marinelli. He was one of the kindest men I’ve had the privilege to meet. Small in stature, huge in heart.
Grandpa was the reason why I’ve always looked up to my father. He instilled in both of us the importance of earning an education and working hard to make a living.
Since I was a boy, until my freshman year in college when he passed, Grandpa would regularly declare the cliche quote, “Knowledge is Power” to me.
Grandpa was soft-spoken, so I’m not sure if he would find a way to agree or argue with me, but I just don’t believe that quote anymore…
I believe in today’s digital world, where we all have instant access to millions of resources, facts, and opinions at our fingertips – Knowledge, no longer is Power.
I believe Knowledge is Position.
The acquisition of knowledge now merely earns us a position at the table, to join in on the conversation.
The real power comes from what we do with all that knowledge.
Our ability to transform knowledge into action by sharing it with others, makes all the difference.
Grandpa, I hope you don’t mind, but I’m positioning my knowledge into action, and sharing it with the world.
Do your part. Share your knowledge.
